Seriously, only the NYT could come up with something this hilarious. For starters the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Congressional Research Service puts the cost of Obamacare at $1.026 Trillion. I’m guessing it will be a lot more, not even counting the loss in quality of care. Calling tax cuts (which Obama extended so you’d have to now move them to the right bar as well anyway) a “cost” is not exactly college level economics.

C’mon – let’s at least try to have an honest discussion about this stuff. I would never defend GWB’s domestic spending record. He spent like a democrat and should be ashamed. However, since taking office, Obama has trebled the deficit and government spending as a percent of GDP is at an all-time high (about 25%; GWB never exceeded about 20%). I know these are inconvenient truths to these discussions……

Yeah, what the heck would CMS know about healthcare costs anyway? Did Mittcare bend the cost curve in MA? Uh, no – it increased costs and now rationing is setting in, just as it will when costs spiral out of control under Obamacare. Anyone who believes this bill will “bend the cost curve” needs to spend more time with Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy.
